Loren Ray Lemasters, 80, of Pittsburg, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 8:05 am at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Loren was born September 6, 1940 in Creal Springs, the son of Floyd and Cynthia (Lamphere) Lemasters.  He married Barbara Jean Buckner on April 16, 1971 in Murphysboro and together they shared over 38 years of marriage.  She preceded him in death on December 5, 2009.

Loren retired as a truck driver for Norge. He was a proud United States Veteran.

Survivors include his:

Son – Loren R. Lemasters, Jr. of Johnston City

Daughter – Dana F. Farris of West Frankfort

Daughter – Brenda K. Crofford of West Frankfort

Son – Brian F. Zappa and wife Oona of Harrisburg

Daughter – Angela L. Poland and husband John of Pittsburg

Son – Bob H. Zappa and wife Leslie of West Frankfort

Son – John A. Zappa of Cape Girardeau, Missouri

25 Grandchildren

Several Great Grandchildren

Brother – Clive Lemasters of Creal Springs

Sister – Ina Phillips of Creal Springs

Brother – Clifford Lemasters of Creal Springs

Brother – Gene Lemasters of Marion

Many nieces and nephews

Preceded by his Parents, Wife – Barbara, Granddaughter – A.J. Zappa

Graveside services will be Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1 pm at County Line Cemetery in Creal Springs with Rev. John Howat officiating.  Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.  Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
