Donald Edward Robinson, age 91, of Marion, passed away at 4:26pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Veteran’s Community Living Center in Marion. 

Donald was born on March 7, 1929, the son of Edward and Orpha Belle (Evans) Robinson. He married Mary Elva Robertson in Chicago on October 25, 1967. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2014.  

Mr. Robinson was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Marion. He had retired from Norge in Herrin.

Survivors include:

Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law- Clara May and Fred Elfrank of Johnston City

Several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers- Homer, Fred, Ralph, and Alpha Robinson; three sisters- Mercedith Lauren Duffield, Catherine Duteringer, and Ethel White.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Brother Joel Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy with military rites presented by Marion VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the National Guard Flag Detail Unit.  Visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

    Donald Robinson was a good man. I always enjoyed our many conversations at the church. He enjoyed picking his guitar. He loved Ernest Tubb and his guitar player Billy Bird. He just loved it and would laugh, when I would see him and say pick it Billy Bird haha… Great man I will miss very much.
