Monte Lee Berra, age 67, of Carmi, Illinois, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 11:17 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village.

Monte was born in Carbondale, Illinois on May 14, 1953, the son of Louis and Roma (May) Berra. He loved to work in his garden, be outdoors and spend his time fishing. He was of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include his sister, Alisa Huff of Arnold, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles and Margin Berra.

Monte’s wishes were to be cremated. No services will be held at this time. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with arrangements.

    the class of 71..everyone LOVED him ! A gentleman Giant…a man of few words..but a Large heart.
    I recall in Jr. High..someone in Gym Class stuck him
    Deep with a needle..he never moved a muscle..he just
