Marion- Junior Lee Turner, age 90, of Marion, passed away at 9:10am on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Junior Lee was born in Williamson County on July 26, 1929, the son of Gus and Nellie (Mifflin) Turner. He married Shirley Joan Launius in Lincoln, Illinois on February 24, 1953. She preceded him in death on October 24, 2018. 

Lee was a United States Army Veteran, stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War. He was the proud owner and operator of Turner TV in Marion.

Survivors include-

Daughter- Leisa Joan Starrick of Marion

Son- Lonnie Lee and Kay Turner of Johnston City

Son- Jason Andrew Turner and Lisa Warren of Marion

Seven Grandchildren

Eight great grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way

Brother- Steve Turner of Harrisburg

Brother- Bill and Shirley Tuner of Harrisburg

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son- Scott Logan Turner, brother- Bob Turner, and sister- Mildred Gates.

DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS AND BY THE SIGNING OF EXECUTIVE ORDER BY GOVERNOR J.B. PRITZKER, a private memorial service will be held at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Howat officiating. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at New Springs Grove Cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.

    He was a good neighbor and he always enjoyed the food we would take to him & Shirley especially the Blackberry dumplings I made. He would always call the same day we took the food to thank us for bringing it.
