Evelyn Ann Borum, age 70, of Herrin, passed away at 4:11pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn was born in Harrisburg on December 27, 1949, the daughter of Lee Roy and Mary Lucille (Malone) Almaroad. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a licensed practical nurse. She enjoyed her travels to Alabama and cherished her visits to the Cordova Church of Christ while there. Evelyn adored her family and will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Survivors include:

Daughter- Stacy A. and Patrick Vogt of Carterville

Daughter- Lindsay T. Allen of Herrin

Son- Lance W. Borum of Herrin

Raised as a daughter- Debra and Tom Horn of West Frankfort

Raised as a daughter- Crystal Vineyard of Marion

Daughter-in-law - Wilma Borum of Stonefort

Seventeen Grandchildren- Jonathan and Ashley Lerch

She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Lester Borum, two brothers- Henry Irvin Almaroad and Everett Eugene Almaroad, and twin great granddaughters- Kaitlyn and Payton Lerch.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. William Tittle, of the Church of Christ in Cordova, Alabama will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.  

Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, social distancing is advised and the wearing of masks is encouraged.
