Christa Jean Murphy, age 49, of rural Carbondale, passed away at 4:32pm on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Christa was born in Herrin on December 12, 1970, the daughter of Eddy and Barbara (Lockard) Murphy. She worked for Intertape Polymer Group.

Survivors include:

Daughter- Shaina Hollis of West Frankfort

Son- Scott Hoffard of Carbondale

Grandchildren- Adriana Romero of West Frankfort

     Bellynna Smith of Herrin

Sister- Patsy Murphy-McGee of Marion

Sister- Jessica Murphy of Herrin

Host of Family and Friends

As per her wishes, she will be cremated. The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate her life at 2pm on Saturday July 11, 2020 at the Herrin City Park. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
