Ann Tanner, age 81, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 4:00am on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home in Marion.

Ann was born in Stewart County, Tennessee on April 30, 1939, the daughter of Sperlin and Macil (Cheatham) Robertson. She married Lyman Tanner in Herrin on June 21, 1963. He survives in Marion. Together, they have shared more than 57 years of marriage.

Ann graduated from Herrin High School in 1958. She had worked at Allen’s in Herrin for a short time prior to becoming a full-time wife and mother. She had volunteered at the Soup Kitchen, Hands of Hope, and at First Baptist Church where she was an active member for more than fifty years. Her Lord and family were everything to her.

Survivors include her loving husband- Lyman Tanner of Marion

Daughter- Lana and Richard Parker of Kentucky

Son- Darek Tanner of Tennessee

Two adored grandchildren- Malese and Blake Dunevant

     Jase Parker

Sister- Margie and Rick Pedigo

Brother- Rick and Rhonda Robertson

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters- Mary Wortham, Betty Culbreath, June Baker, and Kay Robertson, and two nieces- Karen Baker and Debbie Pedigo.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Marion First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
