Herrin- Betty Rose Guido, age 82, of Herrin, passed away at 1:10am on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Herrin Hospital.

Betty was born in Herrin on July 29, 1933, the daughter of John and Mary (Alegnani) Hunsick. She married John Joseph Guido at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin on September 26, 1953. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Guido was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Prior to retiring, Betty worked as a sales clerk at Zwick’s Clothing Store in Herrin for more than fourteen years.

Survivors include her two sons- Joseph Michael and Candi Guido of Carterville

Robert John and Cheryl Guido of Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Sister- Mary Jane Jones of Herrin

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother- John Charles Hunsick.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:30am on Friday, February 12, 2016 at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
