William L. Yost, Jr.

William L. Yost, Jr., 79, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 3:25 pm at home.

William was born October 27, 1935 in Marion the son of William (Lloyd) Yost and Ella (Kindell) Yost Walden. He married Betty L. Kelton in 1957 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 1997.

He was a Navy veteran, proudly serving for 23 years. He was a retired coal miner and worked at Primax. His memberships included the UMWofA, Marion VFW, American Legion and Eagles.

Survivors include his;
Daughter –Tina Treat and husband Clarence
Son – Mike Yost and wife Debbie
Son – Robert Yost and wife Pam
Grandchildren;
Beau Steinmetz and wife Lory
Amaya Treat
Cody Yost and wife Ashley
Jeremy and Joshua Burton
Great grandchildren;
Savannah, Alden and Ezra Steinmetz
Ethan Yost
Blake Mitchell
Brother – Bob Yost
A host of family, extended family and friends

Preceded by his Parents, Wife – Betty L. Yost, Son – William C. “Will” Yost and Sister – Joann Lewis McNeill

Graveside services will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1 pm at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Military rites will be presented by members of the Marion VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the Navy detail unit. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes are available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
