My name is Annette May and I am the only child of Nancy Spiller’s. I am 52 years old and I was born in Herrin. I now live in Portland, OR. My grandparents funerals were held at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home and I am on very good terms with my family and was on very good terms with my mother. I love her dearly and I am shocked and saddened that I was not included as a survivor among our family. Her estranged husband, Randy Spiller and I are not on good terms and I suspect this is why I was not mentioned. She filed for a divorce in June and I am really insulted and appalled that my name was not mentioned. My mother was very good to me, always worked hard to provide for me, and I cannot think of one person who did not like her. She was the most honest, trustworthy, smartest woman anyone could ever meet. I apologize for posting this, but I feel that I have a right to be upset. I am glad that Johnson-Hughes is making arrangements and I thank you for her obituary otherwise.

    Respectfully,
    Annette May

One more thing: My mother had two grandsons and his name is Ian. He was also not mentioned. My uncle’s wife and kids were not mentioned either and I wish I could rewrite this obituary. She was not born in Herrin, she was born in Chicago, IL.
