My sympathies for the lose of their mother to Steve, Linda and Pam. Growing up, we were the migratory part of the family, returning to Carbondale regularly on vacation over the years. I can well remember all the times spent at the Cecil’s swimming and hanging out. I did not get to know my Aunt that well until about 20 years ago when I discovered our common interest in an early rise and a cup of coffee. When we were in the area I would leave my wife, Pauline, to sleep in and go over to Joann’s to have coffee together. This was great as she would tell tales of my dad and her growing up in Quincy and moving to Carbondale, and all the rest of the history that we as the next generation didn’t know. I will miss this opportunity next time I come to Southern Illinois. She was a great lady with a spirit for fun and a kind heart. We’ll all remember that smile. Sympathies also to the sons and daughters in law,the grand children and great grand children and all the good friends.

    Linda,

How blessed you are to have had such a great mom, and that you had her for so long is an even greater blessing. I know your heart is hurting, but this too shall pass. Know that your mom is in the loving arms of our Lord and in the presence of all her loved ones that has gone before. Find comfort in your faith and in God’s promise of eternal life. You WILL see her again. The greatest healing during these time is our faith. You, Bruce and all your family are in my prayers and thoughts during this very sad time.

Hang in there my dear friend, everything will be ok.

    Love Judy

Sending my condolences to the Cecil family. Didn’t know this lovely lady personally. However, wanted to share Proverbs 31:7-end with you as the woman she seemed to portray in the words read about her. Keep her legacy alive in your hearts, souls, and minds. Another earthly angel now in heaven with Jesus. Hugs and prayers.
