I’m so sorry to learn about this terrible loss. Dave and I were Automotive Technology classmates at SIU VTI. I’m originally from Vandalia, IL. and Dave dropped me off in Vandalia on his way back to Pana while driving his souped up black 1949 Mercury which had a Gen Motors V/8 engine with a manual floor shift transmission. I also remember he carved “Dink Loves Betty” in one of the student wooden chairs at VTI. He was a very nice, fun loving person to be around and a great college friend. We went our separate ways after graduation, but I looked him up several times over the years whenever I came back to the Carbondale area. He didn’t change much from looking at his picture and it’s hard to believe he isn’t with us anymore. Wishing his family the very best as they go on with their lives without him
