Herrin- Thomas D. Horn, age 72, of Goreville, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 3:02pm on Monday, October 6, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Thomas was born in Carterville on December 20, 1941, the son of Lewis and Leta (Threlkeld) Horn. Tom had served for many years as the Chief of Police in Herrin.

Survivors include his son- Brent Horn of Goreville

Daughter- Chris Williams of Florida

Wife- Jo Ann Williams of Goreville

Brother- Raymond Horn and wife Martha of Herrin

Brother- Lewis Horn, Jr. and wife Elaine of Texas

Sister- Caroline Horn of Cambria

One Niece and Several Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Ronnie Horn, and brother- Kenny Paul Horn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Mark Fisher officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herrin’s American Legion and VFW Posts with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.

As per his wishes, his body will be cremated after the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL62948.
