Bush- Malcolm T. “Mack” Holderfield, age 64, of Bush, passed away at 6:15am on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at his home in Bush.

Malcolm was born in DuQuoin on June 23, 1950, the son of Rosalie (Mason) and Willie Holderfield, Sr. He married Judith “Judy” Taylor in Herrin in June of 1992. She survives in Bush.

Mack was a retired truck driver and formerly also worked at SIU.

Survivors include his wife- Judith “Judy” (Taylor) Holderfield of Bush

Son- Willie Holderfield Jr. and wife Tina of Bush

Daughter- Christine Holderfield of West Frankfort

Daughter- Sharon Morris of West Frankfort

Step-Sons- Kevin Jeralds and wife Kim of Bush

Kenneth Taylor and Wife Gloria of Charlestown, IN

Donald Messamore of Bush

Curtis Messamore and wife Karen of Carterville

Grandchildren- Nine

Great Grandchildren- Two

Step-Grandchildren- Eleven

Step-Great Grandchildren- Several

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers- Jim and Dusty Holderfield, sister- Susie Jackson, step-son- Ronald Messamore, and step-granddaughter- Brittany Messamore.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at UllinCemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until 11:00am on Monday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.

    Judy and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mack was a good guy and we always enjoyed our times going out with the two of you. He always had interesting stories of the silly things he had experienced in his short life. He will be missed greatly. Tom is taking it very hard and I know how much he will miss him. Take care and I am so sorry that he left you. :(
