Edith Pauline Tanner, 85, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 5;10 pm at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Edith was born December 12, 1928 the daughter of Roscoe and Ollie (Rodgers) Bundren, she was the last of seven children. She married James V. Tanner on June 22, 1946 in New Dennison and together they shared over 62 years of marriage until his death on September 2, 2008.

Edith devoted her life to raising and caring for her family, she was a faithful member of Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her:
Son – Larry Dale Tanner and wife Rhonda of Marion
Daughter – Sharon Sue Emery and husband Keith of Woodstock, Alabama
Four Grandchildren;
Christopher Tanner and wife Angela of Marion
Jason Tanner and wife Jenny of Marion
Brande Verble and husband Kevin of Goreville
Brian Emery and wife Crystal of Woodstock, Alabama
Eight Great Grandchildren;
Hailee Tanner
Mylee Tanner
Logan Verble
Tristen Emery
Brodie Emery
Bailee Emery
McCormick Tanner
Reese Tanner

Preceded by her Parents, Husband – James V. Tanner, two sisters – Helen Rector, Myrtle Edwards and four brothers – Lloyd, Ernest, Orville and Norval Bundren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23, 2014 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Cemetery in New Burnside with Richard Bundren officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

For those who prefer memorials may be made to Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
