Charles Basham

Charles William Basham, 81, of Marion, passed away on Friday. November 1, 2013 at 8:45 am at his residence.

Charles was born November 23, 1932 in Wheeling, West Virginia the son of George and Anna (Williams) Basham.

He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Air Force. Charles was a member of the Elks and was a carpenter.

Survivors include; Daughter – Mavis Davis of Marion Daughter – Nancy Medvick and husband David of St. Louis Son – Caroll Basham and wife Treina of Marion Four grandchildren; Christopher Davis and wife Angela of Marion Laryssa Allen and husband Michael of Cambria Anthony Medvick of St. Louis Collin Basham of Marion Two great grandchildren – Tenley and Tripp Allen Two brothers; George Basham and wife Sarah of Ohio Robert Basham and wife Mary of Ohio

Preceded by his Parents, six siblings – Enola, Virginia, Clara Frances, James, Johnny and Teddy.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 – 8 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.

For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Marion Ministerial Alliance. Envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.

    So sorry to hear about Uncle Charles. It was a total surprise. I remember when him and Carol Wayne came out and went coon hunting. It’s something that I’ll always remember, oh and of course the poker games.
    My only regret is I never got the opportunity to go quail and rabbit hunting when dad (Teddy) would come out.
    I will miss Uncle Charles and his witty ways.
