John W. Barger

Crab Orchard-John W. Barger, 65, passed away at 8:06 P.M., Saturday, May 15, 2004 at his residence.

John was born October 21, 1938 in Harrisburg to Roy S. and Agatha (Russell) Barger. He married Jo Richey on October 4, 1963 in Carmi, Illinois. Jo survives.

He was semi-retired from Patrick Barger CPA in Marion. He was a member of Center Baptist Church in Crab Orchard where he taught the adult men's Sunday School class for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves 825th Replacement Company. He was an avid gun collecting. He enjoyed collecting all types of guns and traded frequently to upgrade his collection. He loved the sport of shot sporting clays. He also was a knife collector and was a knife trader. He also enjoyed going to Pulley�s and visiting with his buddies. John loved to hunt and play golf. His greatest pride was his family and grandchildren.

Mother - Agatha Barger of Marion
Son & Daughter In Law: Scott & Kimberly Barger of Crab Orchard
Son & Daughter In Law: Patrick & Tina Barger of Crab Orchard

Three Grandsons: Cody, Jared & Donovan Barger

One Granddaughter: Bethany Barger

Sister & Brother in law: Patty & Mike Wiemken of Marion

One Niece: Jennifer Wiemken of Marion

Nephew: Jim & Holly Wiemken of Oak Park, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father - Roy S. Barger.

Funeral services will by 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Sam White officiating. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
