Lela B. Emery

Carterville- Lela B. Emery, 65, of Carterville, died at 3:20 AM, Friday, February 22, 2002 at her home.

Lela was born on August 31, 1936 in Blairsville to Floyd & Julia Elizabeth (Atterberry) Dixon. She married Delmar Emery on September 21, 1979 in Herrin. He survives of Carterville.

Mrs. Emery was a civil service worker for Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She was of Pentecostal faith.

Her parents, two brothers, and one sister preceded her in death.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30PM, Monday, February 25, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Dorothy Cook will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
