William L. Deem

Marion � William L. Deem, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 9:55 p.m. at the John Cochran Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

William was born August 24, 1932 in New Carlisle, Indiana the son of Charles & Mary (Sowers) Deem. He married Martha Catherine Pinkston on July 19, 1958 in Shawneetown and together they shared over 48 years of marriage until her death on October 6, 2006.

He was a Korean War veteran and member of the Marion American Legion Post #147. William retired from Inland Steel � Steel Mill after 34 years.

Survivors include;
Daughter � Mary Gotch and husband Jeffrey of Marion
Two Grandchildren;
Steven Huffman and wife Terri of Franklin, Tennessee
Michelle Solomon and husband James of Franklin, Tennessee
Great grandchild � Cade Steven Fisher of Franklin, Tennessee
Step Grandchildren � Lindsay & Emily Gotch of Mt. Prospect, Illinois
Step Great Grandchildren � Lindsay, Ryan, Courtney, Kaylee Chellette
Step Great Great Grandchildren � Emma, Kingston & Saylor Chellette
Sister � Wilett Chavez of Indiana
Lots of Nieces and Nephews
Many close friends and neighbors in Sunset Harbor

Preceded by his Parents, Wife, 2 Brothers � Charles & Herman Deem

Funeral services will be Monday, April 18, 2011 at 2 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. John Parton officiating. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Memorials Gardens. Military rites will be presented by Marion�s VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be Monday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
