LaDonna Marie Kerley
Herrin- LaDonna Marie Kerley, 75, of Herrin, passed away at 12:27 PM, Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Herrin Hospital.
LaDonna was born on March 10, 1935 in Herrin to Robert & Neva (Vanoy) Higdon. She married Ralph Kerley on October 1, 1967 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1996.
LaDonna was retired and previously worked as a Packer at Inmont Chemical in St. Louis for forty years, prior to that she worked at various shoe factories. She was a Baptist and enjoyed Gospel and Country music. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Herrin Hospital Intensive Care Unit, especially Lisa and Mike for the exceptional care they received
Survivors include-
Nephew- Bill Williams and friend Marilyn Kennedy of Herrin
Niece- Darlene Higdon and children Ashley and Amanda of Tennessee
Niece- Kathy Armstrong and children Drew and Valarie of Tennessee
Great Nephew- Tim Williams
Great Nephew- Todd Williams
Great Nephew- Terry Williams
Great Niece- Melodie Doty
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers- Wayne & William Higdon and one sister- Mary Wood.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 Am until time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
