Jeremiah C. South
Marion-Jeremiah Cody South, 22, of Marion, died 2:46 P.M., Monday, June 13, 2005 at Herrin Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1982 in Carbondale to Jim �Bo� & Susan (Mattingly) South.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. He was employed by Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in maintenance. He was a 2001 graduate of Herrin High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his fianc� and playing with his daughter.

Daughter: Shalyn Marie South of Marion

He was preceded in death by his brother: Josiah South, maternal grandparents, Leo & Betty Mattingly, paternal grandparents, John R. & Jeanette Ferguson, aunt, Frances Mattingly.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 17, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Jeremiah South trust fund set his finance� and his children. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
