Beatrice Vernell Parrott Richardson

Marion � Beatrice �Nell� Vernell Parrott Richardson, 82, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at 2:05 P.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Beatrice was born March 17, 1922 in New Edinburg, Arkansas to Hugh and Lennie (Little) Hopper. She married William J. Parrott of New Edinburg, Arkansas on October 06, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 01, 1973. She then married Robert Richardson of Chesterton, Indiana in 1981. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2001.

Beatrice was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Hobart, Indiana. She worked for a number of years as a retail clerk. She also did sewing and alterations from her home. Bea enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing and being with her family and friends.

Step-daughter & Step-son-in-law � JoAnn and Don Cundiff of Chesterton, Indiana
Grandchildren:
Stephanie and Tom Fairlie, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Darren Schmidt of Chicago, Illinois
Dawn Menn of Marion, Illinois
Lennie Fairchild of Herrin, Illinois
Robert Fairchild of Provo, Utah
William Fairchild of Pittsburg, IL
Seven Great Grandchildren
Many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved
She was also a foster grandma to many children that loved and accepted her as their own grandma.

Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Peggy Elizabeth Schmidt, Sister and Brother-in-law Clara & Bill Kinard, Brother and Sister-in-law Max & Sue Hopper, Brothers � Charles Hopper and Jerry Pat Hopper, infant brother Thomas and infant sister Agness.

Beatrice had been a resident in Valparaiso Care and Rehab Nursing Home in Valparaiso, Indiana for two years and Fountains Nursing Home in Marion for the last three years of her life. She suffered from Alzheimer�s disease and died from pneumonia. She will be greatly missed by those who loved and cared for her.

Beatrice will be laid to rest by her first husband and the father of her children William J. Parrott at a graveside service on Saturday, March 05, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. at Shady Grove Cemetery near New Edinburg, Arkansas.

Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion will be handling the arrangements.
