Herrin- SHELLIE HODSON, age 41, of Herrin, passed away at 4:30am on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Herrin Hospital. Shellie was born in Saint Charles, Illinois on June 6, 1971. She married Howie Hodson in Herrin on December 22, 1990. Together, they shared twenty-one years of marriage. He survives in Herrin. Mrs. Hodson was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Herrin. A 1989 graduate of Herrin High School, Shellie went on to receive two Associates Degrees from John A. Logan College. She worked as an HR Specialist at Herrin Hospital. Shellie was proud to be a die-hard Herrin Tiger fan and enjoyed helping with the Herrin Tiger Cheer Club. Survivors include her husband- Howie Hodson of Herrin Daughter- Nicole Hodson of Herrin Mother- Roberta and Jim McHargue of Herrin Mother-in-law- Joyce Willmore of Johnston City Father-in-law- Howard Hodson Sr of Ackley, Iowa Step-Son- Kyle Hodson of Harrisburg Step-Brother- Paul and April McHargue of Herrin Step-Brother- Dale and Nina McHargue of San Antonio, Texas Sister-in-law- Julie and Gary ONeil of Bardwell, KY Sister-in-law- Kendra Willmore of Marion Brother-in-law- Bob Hodson of Mississippi Beloved Cats- Oddball and Baby Cat She was preceded in death by her grandparents- Robert and Opal Bates, brother- Victor Endicott, and brother-in-law- Eric Hodson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Brad Harlow and Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made payable to Howard Hodson to be used for the Nicole Hodson Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
