Ronald D. Yancey

Herrin- RONALD D. YANCEY, age 75, of Lecanto, FL, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 10:27am on December 2, 2006 at Earl B. Hadlow Caring Center in Jacksonville, FL. Ronald was born on August 16, 1931 in Herrin, the son of Leo Yancey. He married Beverly Zook on May 31, 1956 in Herrin and together they shared 50 years of marriage. She survives in Florida. Mr. Yancey was an S.I.U. graduate majoring in business and accounting. He was an Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. Ronald was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin. Survivors include his wife- Beverly (Zook) Yancey of Lecanto, FL; brother- Richard and Wanda Yancey of Crown Point, IN; sister-Marie Mason of Herrin; mother-in-law- Winifred Zook of Herrin; sister-in-law-Pat Parsons of Herrin; and his aunt- Esther Spence of Herrin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin with Rev. Michael Neubert officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military rites performed by Herrins American Legion and VFW posts. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations may be made to the Herrin First Presbyterian Church Window Fund or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
