Margaret Dorgan

Marion- Margaret Dorgan, 84, of Marion, passed away at 6:00 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at her home in Marion. Margaret, Maggie as she was called, enjoyed conversation, singing, laughing, coffee & music. She enjoyed dressing up, wearing jewelry, wearing make-up and getting her hair fixed. She lived in her own home for the last ten years. Prior to that, she resided in Energy for a number of years. She loved to shop, eat out, go to the beauty shop, picnic, rock in her chair, cook, sing gospel music and attend church. She listened and sang with her friends and peers. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. She would give you a name and she would call you by that name for as long as she knew you. She often asked for coffee (which she liked very warm). One of her favorite pastimes was folding laundry. She was a gentle, kind and outspoken lady. She was always in the mood to talk and she would often repeat what she heard (sometimes, this wasnt a good thing). She was very straight forward, telling exactly how she felt. Margaret is loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. SURVIVORS: Brother- Jeremiah Dorgan- Chicago, IL Many companions and friends including, Roger, Larry, Marlene. George, Robert, Anthony & Carol. She was preceded in death by her parents & dear friends; Lester Verble & Harold Goode. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 PM until time of service, Wednesday at the church. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. A celebration of life will be following her funeral at Our Directions, 800 East Herrin Road, Herrin, Illinois. We would like to invite her friends and family.
