    Andy,

We sure had a lot of fun growing up together. I believe our fathers took us camping & fishing everywhere from Mitchell’s Lake to Reelfoot. We were members on Herrin’s 1962 Little League All-Star team that made it all the way to the state finals before being ousted by a Chicago team that looked old enough to have grown men on their roster It was my pleasure to be your & Denny Mather’s catcher.

You were blessed all these years to have Bonnie as your wife.

I’m so sorry, after your long, valiant fight against your illness, that you just got to spend one last day at home. Love, God Bless & see you in “El Cielo!”

I will never forget this sweet, big-hearted man, who always had a joke to tell or story to share, who always looked out for his friends, colleagues, and fellow Veterans. I enjoyed working with him at the VA in Marion where he was a first-class service chief and mentor to so many. Prayers to his family.

I worked with Andrew for over 20 years at the VA hospital. We got along very well, even though we were sometimes management- union adversaries. He was a fine man and I will miss him. God bless him and his family.

I served with Andy in the Navy in Misawa, Japan and Sugar Grove, WV but we followed separate paths in 1979 and didn’t reconnect until 2015. It was wonderful to visit Andy and Bonnie twice in the past few years. We shared many stories and memories. It has been hard to see the struggles he has bravely faced since last July. When I talked to him the Sunday before he came home, he was in high spirits and so happy to be going home to Bonnie. It was my last contact with Andy and I’m grateful I have that positive memory of my friend and shipmate. I close
my eyes and can hear his laugh and see the twinkle in his eyes. I shall miss him every day.

For Bonnie and Andy’s family, I can’t imagine your
grief at the suddenness of all this… We must try to focus on all the wonderful memories of Andy and how he touched so many people’s lives in a positive way.

We created many wonderful memories playing baseball…and nearly made it to the Little League World Series. He was a good pitcher and shared that responsibility with Dennis Mathers whose life was cut terribly short in an automobile accident. I shall miss both Andy and Dennis. Go Rest on That Mountain!
