Rita Faye Prince

Herrin- Rita Faye Prince, age 63, of Herrin, passed away at 5:30am on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at her nephew’s home in Christopher, surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born in East St. Louis, Missouri on December 15, 1955. She was raised the daughter of Eugene and Virginia (Fann) Jones. She married Ronald Gene Prince in Bush on December 11, 1999. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2009. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her mother- Virginia Jones of Herrin

Daughter- Roxanna Maker and husband Charles of Herrin

Son- Chester Helderman II and wife Kenya of Zeigler

Three grandchildren- Gregory Parker II of Herrin

     Kenlee and Riley Helderman of Zeigler

Two Great Grandchildren- Talissia and Kristofer Parker Reese of Herrin

Sister- Sue Mize of Zeigler

Sister- Ruthie Mize of Zeigler

Sister- Elaine Daniels of Redbud

Sister- Jacqueline Jones of Redbud

Sister- Sandra Crook of Redbud

Sister-in-law- C.J. Mize of Herrin

Several Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by her father- Eugene Jones, husband- Ronald, brother- Rex Mize, and sisters- Martha Marks and Carol Hutson.

To celebrate Rita’s life, funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 5, 2019 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating.  Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin on Friday.
