Susan Lorraine Davie

Stiritz- Susan Lorraine Davie, 72, of Stiritz, passed away at 8:18 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Herrin Hospital.

Susan was born on January 1, 1946 in North Carolina to Charles Oliver Crossmore and Ester (Deaton) Andrew I. She married Charles Lavern Davie on February 17, 1962 in Sanford, NC. Together, they shared fifty five wonderful years together.

She worked as an inspector at Aisin for 6 years until her retirement. Prior to that she formerly worked at Olin Matheson Corp in Herrin and cleaned houses locally.

She was a member of the Carbondale Church of God where she taught Bible Study to the children and sang in the choir. She spent her free time painting with her friends at the Williamson County Programs on Aging. Her greatest joy however, was her great grandson- Levi.

Survivors include-

Son- Terry Davie and wife Connie of Herrin
3 Grandchildren:
Megan Gamble and husband David of Herrin
Travis Davie and Taylor Davie both of Herrin
Beloved great grandson- Levi Gamble of Herrin
Sister- Jane of North Carolina

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother- Charles Oliver Crossmore Andrew II.

A funeral service will be held at, 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Saturday, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
