Herrin- EARL J. BYRLEY, age 83, of Herrin, passed away at 10:47pm on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion.
Earl was born in Pittsburg, IL on March 28, 1925, the son of Joseph and Nellie (Robertson) Byrley. He married Dianne Sealander in Herrin on March 4, 1958. She preceded him in death on December 17, 1987.
Mr. Byrley was a retired machinist from Turco Manufacturing in DuQuoin. He was a member of the Crossroads Tabernacle Church in Hurst. Earl served in the United States Army for six years and was a Korean War Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son- Edward Dailey, one daughter- Starr Travis, grandson- Michael Davenport, Grandson- Earl Byrley III, three sisters- Gracie Byrley, Jenny Baldwin, and Susie Byrley; and three brothers- John, Charlie and George Byrley.
Earl will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery with military honors provided by Herrins VFW and American Legion Posts. Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
