Lots of love to all in the family! I’m glad I’ve had good memories, like having a yard sale in the back yard of the house, seeing her goldfish; hugs and a kiss on the knee when I fell on my bike; and as an adult, an open relationship where she comforted me when my first husband died. There have been many more, though we didn’t get to see each other nearly enough, the love was always there.

I am so sorry to hear about Rose Marie’s passing. Many fond memories visiting your home as a child and the thought my own mother was raised in the same home!

You are all much in my thoughts these days. I remember so well all the birthday and Christmas gifts I used to receive from Uncle George and Aunt Rose Marie when I was a child. Those presents were always a cut above what I had expected to get, and I still remember them to this day. I will always remember the hospitality that Aunt Rose Marie extended to Aunt Bertha, no less than she would have shown to a member of her own family. Keep your memories close during these times, and know that I am thinking of you.

Losing a parent is never easy, even though it may be natural. The cost of love is grief. I pray God will soften the pain for all of you.

All the band members of our era should know how much time and caring Mrs. Jensen put into helping with our trips, etc. She made a lot of lives better that we, being kids, likely took for granted. She also was a great friend to my family, and my mother cherished the time and shopping trips they made together. She really could put a smile on my mom’s face! Condolences.

We spent a few years celebrating 4th of July in Herrin when our kids were small, and always loved hanging out at the Jensen home with Rose Marie and George. Rose Marie delighted in spending time with little ones, and our kids loved being there. Her memory will live on in our treasured photos. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the family of Rose Jensen: Imagine the time when there will be no more old age and Rose will be young and vibrant as she once was. (Job 33:25) Imagine a time when there will be no more death and all those in the grave will be resurrected. (Isaiah 25:8; Acts 24:15) Very soon we won’t have to use our imagination because these things will be a reality. We can put our faith and trust in God’s word because we know that “God cannot lie.” (Titus 1:2)
